A Most Inspiring, Moving and Heartwarming Tale of Friendship - Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers
64Life throws all sorts of experiences our way. Have you ever made a special friend when you traveled to a place far away from home? A friend so special you’d willingly drop everything just to spend more time together? Have you had to say goodbye to someone so special it hurt so bad each time you thought of him or her? Lost and Found is a story about friendship. The video was just so heart warming and sweet that I had to send it to all my special friends once I saw it.
The Lost and Found Trailer is at the bottom of this hub. You have to watch it!
Lost and found is actually an animation that is adapted from a children’s book by Oliver Jeffers. It begins with a little boy who finds a penguin at his doorstep, and their adventure begins. Although it is a children’s animation, I found myself really hooked onto it. Their tale is told with so much innocence and beauty, it puts to shame what grown ups sometimes turn friendship into.
It was magical, watching Lost and Found. It made something deep inside me move and melt, I was so compelled to send it to my special friends as an expression of deep friendship that I couldn’t express in proper words. It made me miss those dear friends who live faraway from me - they have a special place in my heart permanently reserved for them.

Award winning Oliver Jeffers is an artist that has diverse talents. He does installations, oil paintings, illustrations, writes books... Lost and Found won a BAFTA award for being the Best animated short in 2010. In fact the Lost and Found Book won the BBC Blue Peter Book of the Year Award (Best Illustrated Book to Read Aloud) in 2006, which is an award for children’s literature.
The Lost and Found book is absolutely cute. These drawings have a way of tugging at heart strings, making reading fun for the children, and adults totally dig right into the story too. There is just something about Lost and Found that grown ups connect with at a deeper level. Perhaps it is the childlike quality of the story that brings us back to our days when life was more simplified, and friendships were laced with sincerity without cynicism.
The Lost and Found animation is absolutely one of the best that I have ever seen. The animation was just mesmerizing with such an etherial quality to it. What really struck me was the beauty and simplicity of the soundtrack. It was very simple, but just gorgeous and effective. It has been such a long time since I watched something that gripped me so powerfully. You have to watch it all the way till the very end. It moved me to tears (which is not easy for movies to do) as I was really moved by the ending. If you watch it on youtube, there are viewers who confess that they were emotional wrecks by the end of the video.
There is just so much beauty to this simple story. I wish everyone would have the chance to watch it. It is inspiring to say the very least. I think I have found the perfect gift for all of my friends, old and young - something they will really enjoy and connect with at a deep level. It would make a perfect Christmas and birthday gift for anyone of any age. I do wish they would play the Lost and Found video (24 mins) before Prime Time News, just to spread some love and joy around.

This is SO sweet. I loved it and thank you for sharing it. My son is going to watch it right now.
He just finished the video and exclaimed "That video is so deliciously happy!" And that is a great review indeed.
After your wonderful review, I was left in want as the video has been blocked and I didn't get to view it. Bummer. Smile!
I've not heard of this video but from your hub, I think it will be a heart-warming one to watch. Thanks for brringing us such a comprehensive review.
I've never heard of it or Oliver Jeffers either. I don't have young children anymore, guess that's why. I am going to check out the books though. Maybe I'll buy one!
